Give some of your time to FARA...

There are many reasons why people are motivated to volunteer at FARA; meeting new people, learning new competencies, using existing skills to help others or simply because volunteering can be an extremely rewarding experience.

Volunteers play a crucial role within FARA and are an integral part of our valued shop teams. Whether your interest is providing excellent service to the local community, helping your colleagues with general tasks or you are keen to focus on one specialist area, the time you dedicate to one of our shops will be highly appreciated.

Some of the most important tasks which make our shops successful are carried out by volunteers. Customer service, signing people up to Gift Aid, sorting donations, preparing clothes for sale and shop displays are among the key roles a volunteer can play. You do not need specific skills to be eligible to volunteer as you will be trained in-store.

Within the FARA team we have some volunteers who have attended a regular and consistent number of hours over years of service, as well as individuals who fit an hour or so in whenever they can. We recognize the need for flexibility and the Managers will welcome any time you are able to contribute in the shop.

Many of the people employed by FARA began by volunteering at their local shop, building their skills through experience and developing a desire to progress within the Company. As a relatively small organization, we strongly support individual personal development and where a person shows interest, internal promotion.

It is the diverse mix of individuals who make up the FARA team which make it such an exciting and rewarding place to work. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and whilst retail / charity experience is preferable, candidates who are able to demonstrate a professional and empathic approach and a drive to overcome challenges will be considered.
